OUR MISSION
The Anthony Acevedo Educational Foundation is dedicated to preserving the memory of Anthony C. Acevedo, a resilient World War II veteran and survivor of the concentration camp Berga an der Elster. Our mission is to honor his legacy by raising awareness of the untold stories and experiences of those held at Berga an der Elster. Through education, remembrance, and advocacy, we strive to ensure that the atrocities endured by American GIs, particularly those targeted for their Jewish heritage or deemed 'undesirable,' are never forgotten. By shedding light on this often overlooked chapter of history, we aim to promote understanding, foster dialogue, and inspire meaningful action to prevent such atrocities from recurring.
